Hinning House
Hinning House is a purpose-built Centre in a superb location, in the beautiful Duddon Valley, close to Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain. Close by are sites for rock scrambling, climbing, hill walking, orienteering, mountain biking and farm visits. There are also spectacular valley walks along the River Duddon.
Leaders like the ease of looking after their groups under one roof and there is a “family” atmosphere with cook and caretaker living next door.
The Centre offers fully catered courses with accommodation in small bedrooms for groups of up to 30. There is video conferencing, a bank of computers with internet access and a multi-media computer with smartboard and DVD available. Resources for evenings include indoor and outdoor games, night orienteering and team challenges.
The Centre can also be hired by independent groups for catered or self-catered weekends and for weeks during the school holiday period. Centre staff are available to run activities if required.
